How do I add an item?
Open Scan to use a barcode or receipt, or use the add button on Home or Inventory for manual entry. You can review the category, quantity, unit, storage location, expiry date, and low-stock level before saving.
How accurate is receipt scanning?
Receipt scanning uses on-device text recognition and is still in development. Shelfie estimates likely names, categories, quantities, storage, and dates, but nothing is added until you review it. Always check the result before saving.
How do expiry reminders work?
Choose your “expiring soon” threshold, delivery time, and quiet hours in Profile → Expiry & notifications. Shelfie schedules local reminders for saved items with expiry dates and can also remind you to audit inventory periodically.
Are recipe suggestions private?
When supported by your device, Cook uses Apple’s on-device language model. Inventory names and food preferences used to generate recipes are not sent to Orpulus.
Do I need an account?
No. Shelfie works locally without signing in. Sign in with Apple is optional and enables private sync of inventory snapshots, points, and saved recipes across devices.
How do I share my inventory with my family?
Sign in with Apple, then open Profile → Account → Family sharing and tap “Generate family invite code.” Share the code with your household. On their device they enter their name and the code — either on the welcome screen or in Profile → Account — and they will see the same inventory. Members do not need to sign in with Apple, and changes sync automatically.
Can I remove someone from my family inventory?
Yes. A member can sign out on their device from Profile → Account, which removes that device's access to the shared inventory. Invite codes can also expire, so generating a fresh code is a quick way to stop new joins.
How do I join the beta?
Install Apple's free TestFlight app, then open the Shelfie TestFlight invite and tap Accept, then Install. You can also request a personal invite if you would rather tell us about your household first.
How do I manage storage locations?
Open Profile → Locations. You can add, rename, reorder, and delete storage areas. Deleting a location moves its items to Unassigned rather than deleting those items.
Can I share my reorder list?
Yes. Open the reorder card from Home and use the share button. The text list is grouped into low stock, expiring soon, and replace.
How do I delete my account?
Open Profile → Account → Delete account. Apple will ask you to confirm your identity. Account deletion removes the Shelfie authentication record and revokes Shelfie’s Apple authorization; local inventory on the device is not automatically deleted.
